This magnificent villa was built in the 18th century for the Traversa, the lateral wings of this villa were enlarged from Giuseppe Balzaretto to Poldi Pezzoli. During the rule of the Traversa, the villa was surrounded by an Italian garden, later this Italian garden was transformed into an English garden.
Gonzaga’s mausoleum was built in the upper part of the garden, now the park shelters a small Romanic church of Santa Maria di Loppia, this neoclassic villa has spectacular views from both the front and back of the villa, you can view the wide stretch of the lake from one side, and rolling hills on the other side.
